Mission

The Epitome Institute of Education and Innovation (EIEI) is an educational establishment designed to offer qualitative education, advisory and consultancy services, with emphasis on competency-based innovative curriculum, result-oriented and evidence-based capacity building programmes aimed at equipping and transforming the individual, community, the state, the nation and humanity through research, teaching, and community service.

Objectives

Epitome Institute of Education and Innovation is empowered by the Law establishing it to undertake responsibilities as follows:

  • To offer advisory and consultancy services for community and national development.
  • To provide education for community and national development
  • To prepare persons for School Certificate, National Examinations Council, General Certificate Examinations, and equivalent examinations and thereafter award certificate of participation.
  • To develop in youth and adults the culture of reading through the provision of modern library
  • To mentor persons towards career goals and development and thereafter award certificate of participation.
  • To provide computer/ICT training and thereafter issue certificate of attendance or certificate of participation proficiency as the circumstance may require.
  • To provide training in entrepreneurship and business development and thereafter issue certificate of attendance or certificate of participation proficiency as the circumstance may require.
  • To offer to the general public outcome of useful work through workshops, seminars, training and thereafter issue certificate of attendance or certificate of participation proficiency as the circumstance may require.
  • To identify problems of the society and strive to offer low-input and sustainable solutions.
  • To undertake any other activities appropriate for an institute of this nature.
  • To do all such other things as may be considered incidental or conducive to the attainment of the above objectives or any of them.

Board Of Directors

This consists of Chairman and members. The Board has supervisory functions in areas of finance and overall superintendence of activities of the Institute. It meets quarterly but can also meet as situation demands.

The Advisory Board

The Advisory Board is made up of very senior practitioners drawn from the academia, industries, governmental and non-governmental organizations, and private sector in the field of agricultural and environmental sciences, physical and biological sciences, engineering, medicine, ICT, social science, law, education, humanities, and other areas of human endeavors. The Board meets, at the instance of the President/Rector to advise on the Institute’s activities for each year. Membership of the Advisory Board is for two years in the first instance but renewable for another term of two years. The Board is appointed by the President/Rector

Activities and Programmes at EIEI

  1. INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY (ICT) AND DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES Different aspects of ICT and digital technologies education and training are emphasized ranging from basics to advanced courses. Some courses are designed for beginners while others are designed for students who demand higher level training on ICTs and digital technologies. Topics and length of the training depend on the topic and entry qualifications of the participants. Certificate of Participation are issued at the end of the course.
  2. ENTREPRENEURSHIP, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION Training in entrepreneurship and business development are emphasized in this programme.
  3. EDUCATION, MANAGEMENT DEATION AND POLICY This involves key experts such as Fellows, Scholars and Visiting Professors in the Institute thinking inside and outside the box to find solutions to societal problems. Other experts from the academia, government, industry, and stakeholders are also invited to participate. At the end, position and policy papers are issued for public interrogation.
  4. HEALTH AND WELLNESS Public health and wellness, training, short courses in different aspects of health and wellness subsector.
  5. RESEARCH FOR DEVELOPMNET AND INNOVATION This is the brain box and thinktank trust of the Institute. Research Fellows, Visiting Professors, Research Associates and Scholars shall be largely involved in seeking solutions for societal problems and issues. Results of such effort would be disseminated in the form of policy documents, occasional papers, workshops, seminars, conferences, journals, books, etc.
  6. RESEARCH PROPOSAL AND GRANT WRITING Training workshops are organized on methods of writing research proposals, methodology for research grant writing and sources of grants. The length of each workshop depends on number of participants and their backgrounds.
  7. TRAINING WORKSHOPS, SEMINARS, CONFERENCES These are topical and specific to trending events and demands. The length of time varies much depends on type, client, and level of intensity. Tailor made trainings, workshops and similar activities can also be arranged for specific groups and/or organizations.
  8. GRADUATE PROGRAMMES The Institute has programmes for Graduate Education in collaboration with Higher Education Institutions in the supervision of graduate Masters and Doctoral programs in arears of interest our experts. In such circumstance, partial sponsorship may be provided 5 to assist the students. Such students shall register with a recognized and accredited university to benefit from this program.
  9. LECTURES SERIES Public Lectures are organized on topical and trending issues.
  10. MASS LITERACY, ADULT AND NON-FORMAL EDUCATION Programmes are designed for adults who desire updating their skills and learn newer things. These are demand-driven with extensive collaboration with relevant organ of government responsible for similar programmes. These programmes can be in delivered as short courses, training workshops, mass literacy campaigns and similar programmes.
  11. PREPARATORY COURSES a) The Institute prepares students for Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE), National Examinations Council (NECO), General Certificate Examinations (GCE) and National Business and Technical Education Board (NABTEB) Examinations and similar examinations. b) The Institute in collaboration with other international bodies shall prepare students to take SAT, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT and similar examinations.
  12. CAREER AWARENESS Students from high schools are encouraged to participate in one week program where different specializations in tertiary education are discussed and courses leading to each of them. Experts are invited to speak to the students in opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Parents are encouraged to participate where possible. Student placement programmes and opportunities in tertiary education will be discussed with students, guardians, and parents.
